Marmara
Polygonal wall and house at Marmara
Archaeologist Barbara also told me about this other place called Marmara, which some of the local theorists believe to be the location of Odysseus' city and palace.
It consists of a long polygonal wall and a house, which the archaeologist informed me were built in classical times, many centuries after Odysseus' times.

The wall has been examined and it reaches four metres deep into the ground, which in theory would fit a place of assembly quite well.
Though certainly very interesting, it didn't exactly help us find our place of assembly, so we went back to the drawing board to consider our next move.
Polygonal wall and location
However, the polygonal wall is also similar to a place in the North of Lefkada called Nerikos, which was founded by the Corinthians in 700 BCE, 500 years after Odysseus, so it's another argument against this wall being connected to Odysseus somehow.
