Theoklymenos
Telemachos met Theoklymenos just before leaving Pylos. Theoklymenos was on the run and asked Telemachos to take him on his way to Ithaca.
"If you want to go on our well-balanced ship, I won't prevent you. So come aboard. We will entertain you in our home as well as we can.

INDEX
"Where dear child, should I go? To whose house shall I go, of those who rule in rocky Itaca? Or should I go straight to your mother's house and yours?
When they came inside the deep harbor, they dragged the black ship up on the land, and the high-spirited aides off-loaded the gear, and then carried the very beautifil gifts up to the house of Klytios.
Modern Harbour of Vasiliki
Klytios must have lived close to the harbor. Nowadays the harbor is in village of Vasiliki. Vasiliki is, like Poros and Ithaca city, hidden for ships not entering the bay to deep. However, the harbor of Vasiliki is only two centuries old and so is the village.
Telemachos asked Peiraios, son of Klytios to take this stranger to his house, until Telemachos will come to get him.
Theoklymenos boarded the ship and after their arrival at the 'nearest shore' in Ithaca he asked Telemachos:
(Peiraios means close to the harbor, like the city Pireaus is close to Athens' harbor)
Klytios' house must have been where the swamp/salt lake was at the other side of the bay, in the village of Pondi.
More about Theoklymenos the next day, december 19th.
Two centuries ago the harbor of vasiliki was build by the owner of the estate where Odysseus' palace was. The oldest houses in Vasiliki originate from 1825.
The ship from Pylos departed the 'Nearest Shore' at 6:30, was rowed to the harbor of Ithaca to arrive at 9:30. This boat was much slower than a penteconter, it took 3 hours before the ship arrived, anyhow they escaped.
