Here we hit a major snag: as you can see from the photo on the next page, there aren't any harbours on Asteris whatsoever, let alone one with two entrances. Though instead of looking for a different island, perhaps we might consider another way of interpreting the words of Homer.

For this other interpretation we turn to Cees Goekoop. When he examined the Greek texts more precisely, he came to a different conclusion from most translators: there are two harbours, one on either side.

This doesn't have to mean there's an island with two harbours, it could also be interpreted as that near the island are two harbours, one on either side of the strait. In which case, depending on the wind direction, the suitors could choose the best harbour to ambush Telemachos.
There is a harbor there where ships may tie up, with two entrances. There the Achaeans lay in wait for Telemachos.
Asteris
This isn't just about the strategic location of Asteris, there's another reason why the Achaeans (the suitors) have chosen this island, according to Homer it has a harbour with two entrances the suitors can use:
