Dolios' house
Among them was an old Sicilian woman who took kindly care of the old men there at the farm, far from the city.
Well, there is a problem. The location for the main house of the farm is to be expected on de hill north of the fields. Here the house will be protected against the cold northern winds and will be exposed to the sun in winter. But that is not the right location to spot the persuers in time. As we saw earlier Laërtes was eating with his servants and more specific:

Laërtes house
It was the Sicilian woman who prepared his meals and this place must have been located south of the fields. This is where Odysseus and his men must have been eating.
... and Odysseus went near the fruitful orchard in his search. He did not find Dolios as he went down into the great orchard, nor did he find any of Dolios' slaves or his children.
Odysseus was looking for Dolios. It must have been the house of Dolios where Odysseus and his men were eating. But why specific in Dolios' house?
They had gone off to gather stones for a wall around the vineyard, and Dolios was their leader.
It was the house of the leader of the farm, Dolios!
