Acarnania and Aetolia are not only separated by the river Acheloös, but also by fault lines. Fault lines make dramatic changes of landscape plausible.
In the middle of the border the fault line splits into a western and an eastern fault. Our route follows both the eastern and the western fault line. Firstly, the western fault line southbound and secondly, the eastern fault line northbound.

Our route from Vassilikí, Lefkada
Acarnania
Aetolia
Along this splitted fault line are 3 blockages. One near Loutraki, one near Katouna and another in the city of Amfilochia. If Bittlestone's theory, that Paliki was an island, is correct, the theory that Acarnania was an island could also be true.
If the blockages on our route are simular and smaller in size than the Paliki blockage then Doulichion is found!
But first the valley between the first two blockages.
