Helos
After locating Dorion I spotted a Helos in the area of Menelaos' Sparta, in the South of the kingdom. Maybe it meant south after all, but after some more digging I found the actual meaning of Helos: swamp. This didn't bode well, as there are no swamps in Neleus' area.

Sparta's Helos is near the delta of the river Eurotas, which has now been cultivated but it's not unreasonable to assume it could've been a swamp previously. This might mean Neleus' swamp was cultivated, too!

If so, we need to look for a plain and a stream in an area we haven't visited yet. Turns out there is just such a plain, a little north of ancient Dorion. The villages close to it are called Psari and Ano Psari. Psari means fish in Greek, so that fits a watery swamp neatly. Let's take a closer look.

Ano Psari is a really old village, so perfectly hidden between the hills I almost missed it. There are no signs at the junction either. Only a few houses are lived in, the others are merely ruins. Half way down the road to the plain is a site of a Mycenean Tholos Tomb. It sits on a beautiful location, overlooking the 'swamp', but it's covered and fenced off. There's however no doubt in my mind we've just found Helos.
