Ithakos
INDEX
City spring
The eleven-day goat rotation
The west coast of the peninsula is formed by steep cliffs. Nowadays the island of Lefkada is named after these cliffs: Lefkada or Leucata, meaning 'White Rocks'.

Ithakos is one of the mountains that feeds the city spring. This mountain range along the west coast is one of them. This must have been Ithakos, giving also the ancient name to the island, Ithaca.

As Neriton is already been indentified in Mount Stavronas, Polyktor (meaning much-possessing) must be the mountain above the rich area of Eumaios farm.

Mount Ithakos is where Melanthios should have come from. Approaching the spring from the north. Ending the eleven-day rotation over mount Ithakos. But as Homer writes, Melanthios liked to stay close to the city, feasting with the suitors, disobeying his absent master.
