Korax

I walked this part of the trip with a friend and after turning right, we came to my candidate for the 'rock of Korax'. We could see it clearly once we emerged from the gorge, but only four black birds, which the Greeks still call koraki, were to be seen around the place. Not convincing proof it really was the rock of Korax, was it?

This was rather disappointing, it could have been a major break-through. A bit deflated we sat down to have something to eat and drink, just around the corner, where there's a small chapel called PanagĂa. Across the road was an old quarry, could this perhaps be where the birds went?

Then all of a sudden, I was once again struck by 'Athena' with her wand, an idea had hit me: I clapped my hands and dozens of birds came flying out of the cracks in the rock!

It happened so quickly I missed the opportunity to take a picture, I just stood there watching, hardly believing my eyes. This really could be the rock of Korax!

Can you imagine how I felt?
